La 10° Lawyers Polo cerró el año en grande en Alegría

La décima edición del Lawyers Polo 2022 se celebró en donde todo nació: Argentina. Desde el 6 hasta el 10 de diciembre se jugó en las magníficas canchas de Alegría Polo Club, en Pilar, dicho evento reservado para 10 conjuntos armados con abogados internacionales de alto nivel, quienes año tras año se reúnen para jugar y divertirse entre amigos, y también ayudar con causas benéficas asociadas a la niñez.

Por iniciativa de Eduardo Bereterbide, un abogado argentino con matrícula en Buenos Aires y Nueva York y estudio propio en París dedicado a arbitraje internacional, se creó esta competición con "La ley y la caballerosidad” como los principales pilares y que también integran la meta de devolverle a la comunidad local, y la generación de un espacio de networking, entre gente que inspira a gente en interesantes coloquios e intercambios de opiniones.

La presentación del torneo se dio nada menos que en el Salón Dorado del Teatro Colón, uno de los íconos culturales más importantes de Buenos Aires, en un gala para 400 invitados. Durante la ceremonia, tocó la orquesta de música clásica del Colegio Madre Teresa (de Virreyes, dirigido por el padre Juan Pablo Jasminoy), institución con la que colaborará el evento, procurando generar un mínimo de 30 becas para que 30 chicos reciban educación y comida hasta que terminen su escolaridad.

En lo deportivo, los diez equipos estuvieron integrados por jugadores amateurs de 14 nacionalidades: Estados Unidos, Inglaterra, Irlanda, Portugal, Francia, Alemania, Sudáfrica, Pakistán, India, Singapur, Nigeria, Venezuela, Colombia y, por supuesto, Argentina. Luego de tres jornadas de juego, se destacó el conjunto de Kerres Partners, con Alfredo Boden, Ignacio Rueda, Gerry Gan, Misty Allen (fue reemplazada por Andrea Quintero en las instancias finales). En la definición por la Copa Diamante, jugada en la cancha principal de Alegría superó por la mínima, 6 a 5, a un gran rival como lo fue Al-Maria, con Jacinto Peralta Ramos, Miguel Caetano, Filipe Almeida, Maike Holty.

La Copa de Oro, en tanto, quedó en manos de Vontobel (Martin Bleier, Jean de Breuil, Edouard Guerrand, Louisa Watt) tras vencer en la última jornada a Quanto-Pay (Juan Vigo, Eduardo Fevre, Rodrigo Sola Torino, Marcelo Villegas) por 9 a 7.

Tanto afuera como adentro de las tablas se vivió un gran torneo, con mucha camaradería y actividades grupales que resultaron siempre en un plan entretido para el networking y la diversión.

La Lawyers Polo nació hace más de una década y recorriendo el mundo en diversas paradas de polo se ha convertido en un evento de trascendencia en el que todos quieren participar por el ambiente que se genera durante una semana de actividades sociales y deportivas.

The tenth edition of Lawyers Polo 2022 was held where everything was born: Argentina. From December 6 to 10, this event was played at the magnificent fields of Alegría Polo Club, in Pilar, reserved for 10 teams made up entirely of high-level international lawyers, who year after year get together to play and have fun among friends, and also to help charitable causes associated with children.

On the initiative of Eduardo Bereterbide, an Argentine lawyer registered in Buenos Aires and New York and with his own law firm in Paris dedicated to international arbitration, this competition was created with "The Law and Chivalry" as the main pillars and also integrating the goal of giving back to the local community, and the generation of a networking space, among people who inspire people in interesting discussions and exchanges of opinions.

The presentation of the tournament was at no less than the Golden Hall of the Colón Theater, one of the most important cultural icons of Buenos Aires, in a gala for 400 guests. The Lawyers Polo was born more than a decade ago and has become an event of transcendence in which everyone wants to participate because of the atmosphere that is generated during a week of social and sporting activities.
