La novena edición del Lawyers Polo 2022 que se jugará en las costas de Plettenberg Bay en Sudáfrica del 14 al 19 de marzo ya se empieza a palpitar. Dicho evento se realizará en el Plett Polo Club y contará con 8 equipos de abogados internacionales de alto nivel quienes se reúnen anualmente no solo para jugar y divertirse entre amigos, sino también, para ayudar con causas solidarias. La Lawyers Polo nace hace más de una década de la mano de Eduardo Bereterbide, él es un abogado especializado en arbitraje internacional que vive en París y que creó la competencia. Tras haber crecido en Argentina jugando al polo con su familia, Eduardo es un gran apasionado de este deporte y de los caballos. Como él mismo explica: "La ley y la caballerosidad; son los principales pilares de Lawyers Polo. Esta asociación se fundó en 2008 con el objetivo de reunir a todos los abogados del mundo que juegan al polo. Lawyers Polo se reúne una vez al año en los clubes de polo más espectaculares del mundo para compartir una semana de polo, interesantes debates e intercambiar experiencias profesionales.
Para el próximo 2022, ya han confirmado su participación abogados de Argentina, Austria, Canadá, México, Colombia, Francia, Alemania, India, Macao, Malasia, Portugal, Eslovaquia, Singapur, Suiza, Chile, Venezuela, Reino Unido y Estados Unidos. El organizador local de la gira y representante de Plett Polo, Garth Kanigowski, dijo lo siguiente: "Estamos muy emocionados de ser los anfitriones de esta gira internacional de polo. Con 380 abogados internacionales en la asociación, esta es una increíble oportunidad para nosotros de "correr la voz", no sólo de nuestro muy especial club de polo sino también de esta increíble parte del mundo. Todo Plett se va a beneficiar".
Por su parte, Eduardo pasó recientemente una semana en Plett recorriendo las instalaciones de polo, eligiendo hoteles, visitando lugares y construyendo la agenda de la semana. También se planteó disfrutar de un poco de polo, pero sólo para asegurarse de que el nivel de los caballos de polo que se ofrecen están a la altura de las expectativas. Aseguró que estaba sorprendido por el increíble nivel de los campos de polo y de los caballos, a la vez que se sentía seducido por la belleza de la ciudad. "Después de haber pasado este tiempo en Plettenberg Bay, estoy seguro de haber elegido el club de polo correcto para el tour de Lawyers Polo 2022 y no tengo dudas de que va a ser una semana espectacular" comentó Eduardo.
Lawyers Polo también se centra en devolver a la comunidad local y cada año trabajan con una organización benéfica para niños. Las organizaciones benéficas Sabrina Love Foundation y The Plettenberg Bay Music Field Band están manteniendo conversaciones con Lawyers Polo sobre la mejor manera de marcar una diferencia significativa para los niños desfavorecidos de la zona. Estos niños también serán invitados a actuar antes de la final del sábado 19 de marzo en Kurland.
La gira comenzará con un cóctel de smoking al que sólo pueden asistir algunos de los principales dignatarios y empresarios de Sudáfrica.

The ninth edition of Lawyers Polo 2022, which will be played on the shores of Plettenberg Bay in South Africa from March 14 to 19, is already beginning to take shape. The event will be held at the Plett Polo Club and will feature 8 teams of top international lawyers who meet annually not only to play and have fun among friends, but also to help charitable causes.
Lawyers Polo was born more than a decade ago by the hand of Eduardo Bereterbide, a lawyer specialized in international arbitration who lives in Paris and who created the competition. Having grown up in Argentina playing polo with his family, Eduardo is passionate about this sport and horses. As he explains: "Law and chivalry are the main pillars of Lawyers Polo. This association was founded in 2008 with the aim of bringing together all the lawyers in the world who play polo. Lawyers Polo meets once a year in the most spectacular polo clubs in the world to share a week of polo, interesting debates and exchange professional experiences.
For the next 2022, lawyers from Argentina, Austria, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, France, Germany, India, Macao, Malaysia, Portugal, Slovakia, Singapore, Switzerland, Chile, Venezuela, United Kingdom and the United States have already confirmed their participation. Local tour organizer and Plett Polo representative Garth Kanigowski said, "We are very excited to host this international polo tour. With 380 international lawyers in the association, this is an incredible opportunity for us to "spread the word" not only about our very special polo club but also about this amazing part of the world. All of Plett is going to benefit."
For his part, Eduardo recently spent a week in Plett touring the polo facilities, choosing hotels, visiting venues and building the week's agenda. He also made a point of enjoying a bit of polo, but only to make sure that the standard of polo horses on offer were up to expectations. He claimed he was amazed by the incredible standard of the polo fields and horses, while also being seduced by the beauty of the city. "Having spent this time in Plettenberg Bay, I am confident that I have chosen the right polo club for the Lawyers Polo 2022 tour and I have no doubt that it is going to be a spectacular week" commented Eduardo.
Lawyers Polo also focuses on giving back to the local community and each year they work with a children's charity. The Sabrina Love Foundation and The Plettenberg Bay Music Field Band charities are in discussions with Lawyers Polo on how best to make a meaningful difference to underprivileged children in the area. These children will also be invited to perform before the finale on Saturday, March 19 in Kurland.
The tour will kick off with a black tie cocktail party that can only be attended by some of South Africa's leading dignitaries and business people.
