Desde el martes 16 hasta el sábado 20 de agosto se disputó un torneo emotivo en Iridike Puente de Hierro, se trató del Torneo Memorial Joaquín Garrigues con categorías de 0 y 4 goles y con un total de ocho equipos inscriptos. A su vez, a la par de este compromiso, se realizó el Campeonato Femenino de España, el cual es el segundo que organiza el club exclusivo de mujeres. ENGLISH VERSION BELOW
Hablar de Iridike es hablar de polo y no exageramos cuando decimos que es uno de los puntos fuertes de Sotogrande en cuanto a polo bajo ya que con una temporada cargada de torneos, es una de las propuestas más atractivas de la región. En lo que va del 2022 el club ya organizó trece eventos en las canchas de Puente de Hierro en Santa María Polo Club.
Es esta ocasión, tuvimos un evento que dio homenaje a Joaquín Garrigues con un torneo super atractivo con ocho equipos en ambas categorías. Por el lado de la 0 goles participaron: El Bambú, Dany´s Polo, Chukkers App y Dream Team, mientras que en la 4 goles harán lo propio: Shakib, Ahojiz - Mariachis, Isolas y El Cuadrito.
En cuanto al Campeonato Femenino de España, fueron parte cuatro equipos que dieron pelea por quedarse con el primer lugar, haciendo del torneo un evento más que atractivo y competitivo. Los elenco que dieron el presente fueron: Seminejos - Buena Vista, Puente de Hierro, Trafalgar e Iridike.
Al momento de hablar de resultados hay que mencionar que el campeón de la 4 goles fue Ahojiz - Mariachis, El Cuadrito terminó en el segundo lugar y Shakib completó el podio en el tercer puesto. Pasando a la 0 goles, el gran ganador fue Chukkers App, seguido de Dream Team en la segunda ubicación y El Bambú en el tercero.
Por su parte, el Campeonato Femenino de España quedó en manos de Seminejos - Buena Vista luego de imponerse ante Puente de Hierro en la definición. Completan las ubicaciones Trafalgar en el tercer lugar e Iridike en el cuarto puesto.
La actividad comenzó el martes 16 de agosto con los primeros partidos clasificatorios los cuales continuarán durante la semana para así llegar a la gran definición el sábado 20 de agosto. Los partidos se jugaron a cuatro chukkers de 6:30 minutos sin empates.
En la ante sala de este torneo tuvimos la posibilidad de ver: Torneo La Quinta 2022, Torneo Intercomunitario Absoluto.Torneo Concentración Absoluto, Torneo Apertura del Verano, Torneo Vinopolis, Copa Andalucía Femenina y Copa Puente de Hierro, Torneo Isolas 1892 , Torneo Memorial Andrés Rubio, Copa Rubí Vinopolis y Copa Ramos de Guzmán.
Gran organización de Iridike para llevar adelante un cronograma cargado de torneos en busca de impulsar y promover el polo bajo en toda la región. Recordamos que Iridike tiene club propio en Jimena de la Frontera, desde hace unos seis años, con facilidades para jugar todo el año en sus dos canchas. Al no parar en toda la temporada, la idea fue de llevar el polo bajo de hasta 4 goles a Santa María.

A weekend of pure polo at Iridike: Joaquín Garrigues Memorial and Spanish Women's Championship
From Tuesday, August 16 to Saturday, August 20, an emotional tournament was played in Iridike Puente de Hierro, it was the Joaquín Garrigues Memorial Tournament with categories of 0 and 4 goals and with a total of eight registered teams. At the same time, the Spanish Women's Championship was held, which is the second one organized by the club exclusively for women.
To talk about Iridike is to talk about polo and we do not exaggerate when we say that it is one of the strong points of Sotogrande in terms of low polo, since with a season full of tournaments, it is one of the most attractive proposals in the region. So far in 2022 the club has already organized thirteen events on the Puente de Hierro fields at Santa María Polo Club.
On this occasion, we had an event that paid tribute to Joaquín Garrigues with a super attractive tournament with eight teams in both categories. On the side of the 0 goals participated: El Bambú, Dany's Polo, Chukkers App and Dream Team, while in the 4 goals will do the same: Shakib, Ahojiz - Mariachis, Isolas and El Cuadrito.
As for the Women's Championship of Spain, four teams took part and fought for the first place, making the tournament a more than attractive and competitive event. The teams that took part were: Seminejos - Buena Vista, Puente de Hierro, Trafalgar and Iridike.
When it comes to the results, the champion of the 4-goal category was Ahojiz - Mariachis, El Cuadrito finished in second place and Shakib completed the podium in third place. Moving on to the 0 goals, the big winner was Chukkers App, followed by Dream Team in second place and El Bambú in third.
The Spanish Women's Championship was won by Seminejos - Buena Vista after beating Puente de Hierro in the final. Trafalgar in third place and Iridike in fourth place completed the placings.
The activity began on Tuesday, August 16 with the first qualifying matches, which will continue during the week in order to reach the final on Saturday, August 20. The matches were played in four 6:30 minute chukkers with no ties.

Great organization of Iridike to carry out a schedule full of tournaments in order to encourage and promote low polo throughout the region. We remember that Iridike has its own club in Jimena de la Frontera, for about six years, with facilities to play all year round in its two fields. Not stopping all season, the idea was to bring the low polo up to 4 goals to Santa Maria.
