En la apertura de la temporada 2020 se jugó en Polo Park & Country Club Zürich el tradicional torneo Zürich Low Goal Championship, auspiciado desde hace años por Daniel Aegerter. (ENGLISH VERSION BELLOW)
Se disputó el fin de semana del 11 y 12 de julio con cinco equipos disputando el tÃtulo (3 en la Super League y 2 en la Challenge League).
Fue, asimismo, la gran inauguración de la cancha Markus Gräff, que desde este año cuenta con nuevas tablas.
En las variantes del juego en los dos dÃas de competición el suspenso fue intenso, especialmente en la Super League. En la primera jornada, Polo Park Zürich mantuvo el liderazgo, pero al siguiente perdió el control de la situación y cayó en sus dos juegos.
Algunos jóvenes talentos están emergiendo y son el resultado exitoso del polo infantil que fomenta el club: Tommy Gräff, Laura Vuille, Armand Le Page, las hermanas Strub, Janik Oertli y Belen Podesta jugaron ese fin de semana. Todos comenzaron sus carreras en Polo Park Zürich.
El club tuvo el placer de ver a Martin Luginbühl, presidente de la Asociación Suiza de Polo jugando para el dueño de cada. Martin, en su discurso de clausura, expresó: ¡Suiza estará feliz de tener muchos jugadores para sus futuros equipos nacionales! Todos los jugadores, amigos y familiares compartieron algunas delicias que ofreció Daniel Aegerter, se entregaron premios a los ganadores de ambas ligas que fueron dados por Hotel - Restaurant Sonne en Seuzach y Porsche Winthertur.
Super League : Ganador Los Lobos, 2° Hato Restaurant St. Moritz, 3° Polo Park Zürich.
Challenge League : Campeón equipo White, 2° team Blue
Zurich Low Goal Championship 2020
Last weekend, Polo Park & Country Club Zürich hosted the first tournament of the season: the traditional Zürich Low Goal Championship, sponsored since many years by Daniel Aegerter.
5 teams were fighting for the title, 3 in the Super League and 2 in the Challenge League. The tournament was played on two days on Irenita ground. It was a great inauguration for Markus Gräff’s polo field who since this year has new boards.
The suspense was intense as games were played on the two days and we saw some radical change of situation specially in the Super League. On the first day, Polo Park Zürich was keeping the pole position and lost control of the situation on the second day loosing its two games.
Some young talents are definitively emerging in the club, they are the successful result from our well-known kids Club: Tommy Gräff, Laura Vuille, Armand Le Page, the Strub sisters, Janik Oertli and Belen Podesta played this weekend. They all did start their polo career in Polo Park and for some of them more than 10 years ago.
We had also the pleasure to see Martin Luginbühl, President of Swiss Polo Association playing for Polo Park Zürich. As Martin said in his closure speech, Switzerland will be happy to count many players for his future national teams !
All players, their friends and family shared a delicious apero offers by Daniel Aegerter, prizes were given to the winners of both leagues and provided by Hotel - Restaurant Sonne in Seuzach and Porsche Winthertur.
